About Dian Shui Lou (Nanjing Branch)

The dim lighting and the soft hum of quiet conversations set an intimate mood as patrons explore the diverse tastes typical of Shanghainese cuisine. Attention to detail is evident not only in the subtle décor but also in the service, which strikes a balance between attentive and unobtrusive. Guests browsing Dian Shui Lou (Nanjing Branch) photos often note how the space adeptly merges traditional elements with a modern sensibility, creating an inviting yet refined dining environment where the promise of authentic flavors is upheld.

Signature dishes stand out amid the broader selection, particularly the xiaolongbao, where a delicate balance of soupy richness and thin-skinned wrapping showcases culinary skill. While the menu offers numerous options that appeal to both classic and adventurous tastes, some diners may find pricing on the higher side compared to similar establishments, given the portion sizes and ingredient profiles. Nonetheless, the combination of fresh ingredients and careful preparation elevates many of the plates, which receive favorable mentions in Dian Shui Lou (Nanjing Branch) reviews for consistency and quality.

Though located along a bustling stretch of Nanjing East Road, the restaurant manages to feel like a small enclave amid the city’s pace. Coordination and pacing in food delivery occasionally fluctuate, reflecting upon the dynamic atmosphere rather than detracting from the overall experience. Patrons curious about exploring traditional Shanghainese dishes can find value in browsing Dian Shui Lou (Nanjing Branch) restaurant feedback online, which often highlights both the dependable favorites and lesser-known specialties, providing a realistic picture for first-time visitors and repeat customers alike.

Located near the junction intersection of the sports stadium in Taipei. For the price paid..the customer service better be good. Michelin star restaurant for their "xiao long bao" and beef noodles. Customer service is top notch. Serving Shang Hai cuisine in most selection. We ordered the "rainbow xiao long bao" each of different flavour from normal to savoury. The coloured skin of the bao are made by mixing vegetable puree with dough. Consist of 2 special flavour of "XO sauce" and "truffle". Do try!!!. The beef noodles is savoury with well cooked beef and tendons. Olive fried rice is also recommended. Do try the XO sauce noodles. It's spicy and savoury. Other selection is also available. Simple English are understood by crew.

This is a modern style restaurant that serves many of the iconic dishes from Shanghai. It claims to have the best xiaolongbao in Taiwan and most couldn't argue that point as they are very good. While the 3 types of Xiaolongbao we ordered were tasty and good, some of its other dishes were blend and not very tasty. Overall, we like the restaurant and most of the dishes were good. One of the better dishes were the desserts, almond milk and jello, etc.

Xiao Long Bao—must try, so I did. I also ordered another soup, and both tasted great. As someone who has tried many Xiao Long Bao, I have a clear idea of what makes the best, and this one definitely holds its own alongside the others. To me, a great Xiao Long Bao requires perfect balance: a wrapper of the right thickness, fresh and well-marinated meat, flavorful soup inside, served at just the right temperature, and paired with finely sliced fresh ginger and, of course, vinegar. This shop delivers on every front! While the taste is excellent and ticks all the boxes, the price tag is on the higher side. However, considering the restaurant's setup and the level of service, it’s clear they cater to an upper-class clientele. Hahaha! Well, it’s okay to pamper yourself once in a while. At least for me, dining here every day would break my wallet. Lol!

My parents and I loved this restaurant’s food, the quality and service. Despite there being a language barrier (limited English), they were very helpful and friendly. We ended up returning here 3 times on our trip and enjoyed dumplings, taro and duck, aiyu jelly dessert, stir-fried vegetables, sweet and sour chicken and braised pork belly bao buns, which were all delicious!

Yes, the prices are higher here but the food quality is better than your average breakfast joints with XLBs. The skin was so thin and the XLBs were super juicy. Good tea but just so you know they charge for tea and 10% service fee here. Definitely a more high end place, perhaps not for everyday eats. Service was nice too!

Heard they have good steamed pork dumpling(小籠湯包) so tried it with family. I will suggest to try only tofu and 小籠包 since the rest of the dishes are really average
